FEEDING DIRECTIONS
- 5-21 days of age: Start feeding a small amount of Calf Maker 25% in a clean feeder where calf has access to it at all times. Gradually increase as calf finishes the amount offered.
- 22-30 days of age: As calf eats between 1-2 lbs. of Calf Maker 25% per day, begin to gradually cut milk feeding in half. Begin to offer fresh, clean water and a small amount of hay may be offered.
- 31-44 days of age: As calf consumes 2 lbs. of Calf Maker 25% per day, milk replacer may be discontinued. Offer good quality hay if it has not already been provided.
- 45 days-6 months of age: Calf should be fed 3-5 lbs. of grain daily from any of these sources along with a good quality forage as well as fresh, clean water.
- Super Calf 18%, medicated with Deccox
- Calf Starter 16%
- Calf Starter 16%, medicated with Rumensin
- Calf Maker 25% with Grain Mix
Follow directions and mixing guides of these products for further information. Always provide fresh, clean water at all times.
A general rule of thumb: At 300 lbs. of body weight the calf should receive 5 lbs. of Calf Grower 16% per day, and at 500 lbs. of body weight the calf should receive 3 lbs of Calf Grower 16% per day. After 700 lbs. of body weight, good quality roughage will provide nutrient needs. Grain may only be required if roughage is of poor quality.
TOP DRESS: Calf Maker 25% may also be used as a "top dress" supplement for horses, beef, rabbit, sheep and exotic animals. DO NOT exceed a 1/4 lbs. per head per day to sheep and limit other sources of copper.
REMINDER: Feed is perishable and should be stored in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area so it will remain fresh and palatable. DO NOT feed moldy or insect infested feed to animals as it may cause illness, abortion or death.
