FEEDING DIRECTIONS
Begin providing a small amount of Calf Starter 16% medicated after 4 days of age along with a milk replacer. During the first 5 days on Calf Starter 16% medicated, calves should receive no more than 3 lbs. per day. Following this adjustment period, calves should be fed from 4 to 5 lbs. per day; gradually increasing. Continue until the calves are approximately 3 months of age or ready to be weaned. Begin feeding Calf Grower 16% along with good quality hay. Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
CAUTION: Do not allow horses or other equines access to feeds containing Monensin. Ingestion of Monensin by equines has been fatal. Feeding undiluted or mixing errors resulting in high concentrations of Monensin have been fatal to cattle and could be fatal to goats. Monensin medicated feed is intended for use in cattle or in goats. Consumption by unapproved species may result in toxic reactions. Do not exceed the levels of Monensin recommended in the feeding directions as reduced average daily gains may result. Do not feed to lactating dairy cows. Do not feed to lactating goats. A withdrawal time has not been established for pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal. For control of coccidiosis during an outbreak, medication with Monensin should be initiated as soon as the diagnosis is established.
REMINDER: Feed is perishable and should be stored in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area so it will remain fresh and palatable. DO NOT feed moldy or insect infested feed to animals as it may cause illness, abortion or death.
